The Specialist-Chemical Lab performs specialized analyses of pproducts and materials incidental to their manufacture. In addition a specialist performs electrical, electronic and mechanical maintenance or repairs on spectrometric or other analytical equipment. One would also assist calibration of analytical test equipment and development of associated procedures and techniques. Documents instrument maintenance, repairs, standard checks and other data pertaining to instrument function. Reviews product test data for reasonableness and releases final test results. They perform quality system tasks such as review of SPD's (Standard Procedure Document), internal process checks, operator training, environmental compliance audits, and other related activities. Participates in Safety Program including hazardous waste training Trains bargaining unit employees on new techniques and conducts refresher training as necessary. QUALIFIED CANDIDATE MUST BE FLUENT IN PRODUCING ALL RESEARCH CHEMICALS. 2 WEEK TESTING WILL BE EXAMINED BEFORE DIRECT HIRE.
