Job Description

**Essential Responsibilities:** + Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility, according to storage requirements, shelf-life regulations, and staging procedures. + Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions. + Ensuring loads are properly secure, including performing material handling procedures to correctly stack, palletize, ship, and move material. + Stacking and storage of empty pallets, crates, etc. + Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck's battery and lubricating equipment. + Unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places. + Disposal of waste materials/recyclables through the use and movement of machine hoppers, roll-offs, and other required equipment. + Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment. + Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies. + Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. + Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage. Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment. + This position can alternate between outdoor and indoor environments, potentially exposing employees to environmental hazards. + Operate tools and equipment in performance of duties as approved per management. + Conducts assigned portions of inventories. Uses bar code wands, labeling equipment, laser scanning equipment, and/or computer terminals. May require a CAC for system access. + Operates a manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds within a warehouse. + Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. + Performs all housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed to ensure workspace upkeep. + Performs all other duties as assigned, requested, or related, unless otherwise excluded by this description or the established collective bargaining agreement. **Minimum Requirements:** + High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. + Twelve months job related experience and/or training is required. + Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle. + Position may require travel. + Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. + Must be able to speak, read and understand English. + This position requires the candidate to pass a pre-employment physical examination and urinary analysis. + Must be available for any shift, must be willing to work weekends and other hours as needed. **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting up to 20-60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/or organizing skills, and musts be able to work under deadlines. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
