Medical Director of Trauma & Surgical Critical Care

Riverside Health is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced physician leader to join our well-regarded Trauma team at Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC) in Newport News, Virginia. As the only Level II Trauma Center in the Peninsula Region, RRMC offers a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where compassionate, expert care meets collaboration and innovation.

Hospital & Role Highlights
15.25 twelve-hour shifts/month schedule

Team of 5 experienced Trauma Surgeons and 5 dedicated APPs

18-bed Surgical ICU with full Intensivist support

Single hospital coverage—no travel required

Supportive in-patient APP coverage 7 days a week

Qualifications
Completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery Residency and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship

Board Certified or Board Eligible in relevant specialties

Proven leadership experience in trauma or surgical critical care

Strong collaboration and communication skills

Ability to mentor and guide medical staff in a high-acuity setting
