Job Description

ChristianaCare Center for Special Health Care Needs is looking for an Office Assistant.ChristianaCare Center for Special Health Care Needs is located at 501 West 14th Street in Wilmington, Delaware. The Center for Special Health Care Needs is a primary care center in Delaware that provides care for adults aged 18 and older with complex medical and social conditions. It combines a team of medical experts to provide a flexible, innovative, and individualized approach to each patient's care. The center guides patients through the transition from pediatrics to adult medicine, minimizing fear and anxiety while empowering them to live a healthier life and avoid unnecessary hospital visits. Patients meet with social workers, physicians, nutritionists, and other specialists as needed.The Center for Special Health Care Needs | ChristianaCare Work Schedule:Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pmSaturdays on as add needed basis. Duties / Responsibilities:As an office assistant you will be involved with scheduling appointments, interacting with patients professionally, and ensuring patient confidentiality. Collecting demographic and financial information, processing referrals, and verifying insurance reimbursement eligibility. An office assistant will be involved in day-end reconciliation of appointments and payments received. You will need to answer phone calls professionally, relays messages to providers, and communicates with providers and staff through electronic medical records (EMR). You will keep patients informed about issues and facilitate tests, labs, and appointments. An office assistant prepares medical records, research issues, and respond to patients professionally.
