Job Title

About your role:

The Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer (z/OS) is responsible for the installation, planning, design, management, configuration, implementation, of z/OS and z/OS based ISV software tools.  This position is responsible for supporting existing systems while ensuring adherence to established standards and procedures; assists Operation and Development teams in problem determination and resolution; closely works with other teams in defining and implementing technical solutions to solve business needs and continuously seek operational and business improvements. 

What you'll do:

• Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and administration of TCP/IP, VTAM Unix System Services and portions of z/OS 
• Install and maintain Connect:Direct (NDM), MSM and InterTest Batch utilizing SMP/E
• Work with capacity and performance teams in proactively addressing potential performance issues impacting service levels
• Design and develop utilities to streamline processes
• Support and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises and provide on call support
• Support a redundant TCPIP network for a Parallel Sysplex by making use of Dynamic VIPA and Sysplex Distributor
• Support non-shared USS file system in a Shared File system accessible by all LPARs within a Sysplex.
• Support and diagnose AT-TLS configurations

Experience you'll need to have:

• 7+ years of experience with the application of z/OS communications protocols and systems configuration
• 5+ years of experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and possess a deep understanding of core networking protocols
• 5+ years of experience with JCL, UNIX Shell, IBM system utilities, Firewalls and VPNs
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience

Experience that would be great to have:

• Strong understanding of transmission methods and software
• Experience in the financial services industry or other highly regulated industries

How you'll work:

• This role requires being on-call during non-standard and/or overnight hours on a rotational basis
• This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment
