Position Summary: 
​ The Fleet Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company’s vehicles and heavy equipment. You’ll work closely with operations teams to align fleet availability with project needs while managing preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections. This position plays a key role in controlling costs and supporting efficiency by tracking usage, maintaining compliance records, and fostering strong relationships with vendors and service providers. The Fleet Manager will also support rental coordination, monitor regulatory requirements, and identify opportunities to optimize fleet performance across the organization. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of all company vehicles and heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.   

  • Understand equipment specifications and capacities.  

  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules, repair programs, and inspections for all fleet assets.  

  • Document relevant fleet details and identify and resolve operational bottlenecks.  

  • Collaborate closely with operations teams to ensure vehicles and equipment are available, safe, and ready for projects as needed.  

  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle and equipment usage, maintenance, licensing, and regulatory compliance.  

  • Track fleet-related expenses and identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining operational readiness.  

  • Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and rental companies to secure favorable contracts and timely service.  

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies regarding fleet operations.  

  • Assist with rental agreements and coordination, including reviewing cost structures and rate schedules  

Qualifications and Expectations: 

  • At least 5 years’ experience in fleet and equipment operations, preferably in a large construction contractor or equipment vendor space.  

  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment specifications, applications, and maintenance. 

  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively, multi-task, and solve complex problems sometimes involving multiple company departments and third parties.  

  • Must think and act strategically, conducting long-term plans to meet operational needs and departmental goals.  

  • Sound knowledge of fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.  

Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000
