**Job Description** **_Strengthening and empowering all of the communities we serve._** **_This is a remote position._** Advance Local has an exciting opportunity for a **National High School Sports Desk - Affiliate Writer.** This position is in a new national high school sports team writing articles that help High School Sports fans learn the best places where they can stream events, reviews and costs of streaming services, how to get tickets to high-profile events and where to get the best deals for merchandise. A great candidate must be a fanatic about High School Sports coverage who sees themselves as a concierge to readers looking to immerse themselves in the High School Sports experience. This role primarily writes articles and can include weekend hours, when necessary. This is a remote job. The base salary range is $43,000 - $52,000 per year. **What you'll be doing:** + Write timely high school sports-focused affiliate articles that drive engagement and monetization. Core topics include video streaming services ("how to watch"), merchandise and tickets. + Build out a content calendar of key events and communicate that calendar with local high school sports and affiliate marketing teams. + Contribute to the planning and execution of major affiliate marketing initiatives. + Track key metrics to ensure content is performing to goal. **Our ideal candidate will have the following:** + Bachelor's degree in journalism or communications or related field preferred + Minimum two years' journalism experience, including familiarity with content optimization + Familiarity with audience engagement metrics across platforms (Google Analytics, Parsely, etc.) and an ability to translate them into actionable data + Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work + Strong communication and presentation skills + Able to make sound decisions and produce accurate work on deadline + Solid understanding of journalistic ethics Extensive computer use required. **Additional Information** Advance Local Media offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package with affordable options for your healthcare including medical, dental and vision plans, mental health support options, flexible spending accounts, fertility assistance, a competitive 401(k) plan to help plan for your future, generous paid time off, paid parental and caregiver leave and an employee assistance program to support your work/life balance, optional legal assistance, life insurance options, as well as flexible holidays to honor cultural diversity.
