High School Counselor – York High School

York Public Schools is accepting applications for a High School Counselor at York High School . We are seeking a caring, collaborative, and student-centered professional dedicated to supporting students’ academic planning, social-emotional well-being, and postsecondary success.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, certified position (Grades 9–12)
  • Start Date: August 2026

Responsibilities Include:

  • Academic advising and scheduling support
  • College and career readiness guidance
  • Social-emotional support and crisis intervention
  • Coordination of testing programs (ACT, state assessments, etc.)
  • Collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families

Qualifications:

  • Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with School Counselor endorsement (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Experience with academic planning and student support services preferred
