About Your Role

We’re seeking a seasoned Windows Systems Engineer with a passion for designing and optimizing enterprise-scale infrastructure. This role focuses on solving complex technical challenges, driving automation, and engineering solutions that enhance system reliability, efficiency, and scalability. You will play a key role in architecting and implementing changes across thousands of servers in multiple data centers, supporting a global Windows environment for hosted Fiserv clients. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential as you plan and execute large-scale deployments, troubleshoot advanced system issues, and develop automation frameworks to streamline operations.

What You’ll Do

• Design, implement, and optimize Windows-based infrastructure across thousands of servers in multiple data centers.
• Engineer solutions for OS, storage, networking, and performance challenges in a complex Windows environment.
• Perform capacity planning and resource optimization (CPU, memory, disk) to ensure scalability and high availability.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and frameworks using PowerShell or Python to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
• Integrate and manage third-party software programmatically across large server fleets.
• Collaborate on architecture reviews and infrastructure change planning, ensuring alignment with business and security requirements.
• Utilize tools such as Service Point, SailPoint, Splunk, and App Map for reporting, automation, and change management.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Experience You’ll Need to Have

• 5+ years of enterprise systems engineering experience with hands-on expertise in: Windows Server OS (2008–2022), Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, Failover Clustering, IIS, SSL Certificates, Perfmon, Wireshark, VMware and vSphere
• 3+ years of experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Strong understanding of infrastructure design principles, storage, backup, and networking technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent military experience.

Experience That Would Be Great to Have

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with internal teams, managers, engineers, and vendors.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with strong composure and crisis-management skills.

How You’ll Work

• This role requires being on-call during non-standard and/or overnight hours on a rotational basis.
• This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.
